CanSkate - Learn to Skate

Our CanSkate lessons are conducted in a fun, friendly environment, with professionally trained and certified coaches.

CanSkate supports skater success in developing strong basic skills on the ice, and is the foundation for all ice sports including figure skating, hockey, speed skating and ringette.

Skaters are grouped by age and skill, beginning in Stage 1 progressing to Stage 6. Awards and incentives are earned as skaters progress.

WINTER 2024 - TUESDAY CLASS

January 9 - March 5

• 4:15pm - 5:00pm (arrive by 4pm)
  
• 4 to 12 inclusive
  • Min 4 years old by start date of course. (January 9, 2023).
  • Max 12 years old by start date of course. (January 9, 2023).

ESSENTIAL INFO:

• BOOK ASAP!: Classes fill up! 
  
  
• REFUNDS / CREDITS: Registration is non refundable, please refer to policies prior to booking.  
  
  
• HOCKEY PARENTS: Please note - this is a 'Learn to Skate' program for all types of ice skating. It is NOT a hockey 'Power Skate' program. Achieving Badge Level 4 status in this CanSkate program is a pre-requisite into CanPowerSkate programs.
  
  
• EQUIPMENT: Rentals are not available. Skaters will need to own a CSA approved helmet and hockey/figure skates. WSC has a small selection of figure skates for sale. Check our Facebook Buy&Sell Page.

SKATE CANADA FEE

This annual membership fee is $58.65  and is mandatory; skaters are not insured to participate in Whistler Skating Club programs until it has been paid. It will be automatically added to your invoice as part of your first registration for the skating season (season runs September 1 to August 31 inclusive). If you registered for the Fall 2023 season, you will not be charged this fee again.

REGISTRATION TIPS

Payment is online, in full at time of registration. Your payment options are:

• Mastercard, Visa Credit, and Visa Debit cards.
  (If using Visa Debit card, fill in screen exactly the same as if it were a Visa credit card)
  
• We can not accept cash payment
  
• eTransfer Payment 
  
  • Please ONLY use this option, if you have no alternate option. Processing can take up to 1 week. We cannot guarantee your child a place in the course, until you receive an email confirming that all registration is now complete.
    
  • Payment by this option closes 1 week prior to class commencement.
    
  • If needing to register this way, do not continue with registration. Instead, please email info@whistlerskatingclub.ca (without payment) to request eTransfer payment procedure.
